Another Spooktacular EE Gathering
Costumes will be encouraged at the annual EE Halloween
festivities. Mark your calendar for Saturday,
October 31. Pull out your best fall recipes for a
potluck contribution and head for the Ramada at 4:30
pm to don your name tag and greet your neighbors. |
The Great Pumpkin Contest
Want to brag to your friends and family that you have the best
decorated pumpkin in EE? Enter your creation in the pumpkin
contest at the October
31 Halloween
potluck. There will be two categories, painted and carved, and a
prize will be awarded to the best in each category. Judges will
be Stacie
Meyer, Steve Day and Linda Sielken. Hint: painting
their faces on your pumpkin probably won't earn you any points. |
Dave Sielken Appointed to EE Board
Filling the unexpired term of Jim
Lindberg, Dave
Sielken has accepted an appointment to the EE Board. Jim
has been a friendly face, tireless worker and a vital part of
the board. EE thanks Jim for his service and wishes him well. Dave's
face has been a familiar one as driver of Tillie the water tank,
pool assistant and master of the grill. We look forward to his
service. |
EE Artisans Meeting
The first meeting of the EE Artisans (formerly, Arts Club and
Fiber Arts) will be held on Thursday,
October 29 at 1:00 p.m. at
the Ramada. The group will finalize details for the upcoming
trip to Tohono Chul Park and plan other future events. New
members are always welcome. |
EE-Ramada Internet Now Password Protected
Thanks to the efforts of our webmaster, Craig Surprise,
the Ramada Internet is up and working again, now with password
protection. Check the bulletin board at the Ramada to confirm
the correct password to use, since it may change periodically. |
Pickleball People Plan to Play
Sunday at 9 am was the first Fall 2015 meet of the EE Pickleball
Enthusiasts. The Fall/Winter schedule will have a 9
am start
with Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays available for open play.
Wednesdays are reserved for ladies. Saturday at 9 am will see
competitive players take the court. |
BYOW (Bring Your Own Wood) at Esperanza Park
The once tidy pile of firewood at Esperanza (Snake)
Park received some unwanted additions. Removal of the
unsightly stack will be accomplished shortly. Residents wishing
to build a fire in the pit are asked to bring wood, as needed,
and to remove all excess wood and ash after the fire has gone
out. |
Change in Pool Hours
Sunday, November 1 will mark the first day of
fall/winter hours for the EE pool. The pool and spa will be
closed and covered between 7 pm & 7 am to
retain heat. Aqua Exercise will continue on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday mornings
as long as the weather cooperates. Check with Judy
Lang at 648-7067 for
time changes as the 8 am temperatures drop. Hours for visiting
children remain 11 am-1 pm and 4-6 pm. |
Book Exchange
The EE Book Exchange cabinet
is located inside the pool area. Enjoy reading a
book without a due date or charge! The Exchange operates
on a "bring a book---take a book" basis and is maintained
for the enjoyment of all EE residents.
If you have a number of books to contribute at one time,
please call Cindy Krantz at
203-8292 and let her know you have left the books by the
cabinet. While all donations are welcome, space is limited.
Your call will help keep the cabinet manageable. Books are
'weeded' periodically--no books are ever discarded as the books which have been on the
shelves several months are donated to the Enhancement Team's Ramada Sale.
|
Enhancement Bursting at the Seams
Generous EE residents are donating items destined for the March
EE Ramada sale and the Enhancement Team is running out of room.
If you have items to donate or have room to store some of the
items give Barb
McCalpin a
call at 867-8067. Please, do
not leave
donated items at the
Ramada. |
White Elephant Country Fair Activities
This Saturday is the White Elephant Parade starting at 10:00
a.m. along La Canada. If you're new to Green Valley, you don't
want to miss this event. It's a great chance to witness the

Cooke is the Parade Chair and EE residents Larry
Kempton and
Marvol
Barnard will
serve as parade judges. Reminder that the north side of La
Canada from La Canoa to Camino del Prado by the GVR West Center
will be closed to traffic starting at 8:30 until the end of the
parade at about noon.
Shoppers -- the White Elephant 'Midnight Madness' (Green Valley
Style) shopping sale is Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (That's
the GV equivalent of "midnight.")
Need Plants?
The Green Valley Gardeners will hold their annual fall plant
sale on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. at Continental Shopping Plaza. The sale is a wonderful
opportunity to find what you need for your garden. |
GVC Workshop
GVC will hold a workshop on November 10 at 9:30 a.m. to discuss
issues relating to enforcement of HOA CC&Rs. The workshop is
free but reservations are required. To reserve a space, call
648-1936. The workshop will be held at Santa Rita Springs
Center, 941 W. Via Rio Fuerte, Green Valley.
